At 37 I wanted another baby and Stan said, “NO.”
Originally my husband Stan wanted three children and I always stayed at the number two. I think every Mother can connect with the fact when they decide not to have any more children. I had our son Joel at 29 years old and I decided on a C-section because he was going to be 10 lbs. Joel came two weeks early on June 19, 2003 weighing 8 lbs 14 ounces and boy was I glad.
When I was 34 years old I delivered our daughter, Tyler with another C-section, and I decided to have my tubes tied. The decision not to have any more kids for me was because I thought a son and a daughter created perfect balance. Well then, Why at 37 years old, was I yearning for another child? I did miss the baby phase but it goes much deeper for me.
What I love about kids is that they are 200% Authentic and Kindergarten is my absolute favorite age. I remember crying Joel’s first day of Kindergarten because I knew his school career was going to breeze by and it has. However, why Kindergarten is so priceless in my opinion is because it is children’s’ primary development in everything. Their brains are sponges and communication is exponential. And I remember thinking both of our kids were learning so much and yet I was really learning so much from my kids about me.
When I mentioned to Stan I was starting a Non-Profit, B-RELYT for kids I said, “Now I will have hundreds of thousands of kids to help, love and guide in this New World.” My husband just smiled, as the reason Stan told me he did not want kids was because we did not have the family support and to look for daycares/schools all over again was just too much. Ultimately, I knew Stan was right and he also wanted me all to himself because Parenting is a lifetime commitment. Even though our roles as parents change when our kids become adults, our love and support is everlasting. In my book, Authenticity Accountability & Ambitions (AAA) Tyler Milan and Joel Isaiah have their own chapters so you will get to know a little about them. And when you entrust your children to me through B-RELYT, please know each one will be treated like they are my own children.
